Fiat 500C - The new convertible at St. Erth Services

After making its international public debut at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show in March, the new Fiat 500 C, a convertible version of the iconic Fiat 500, is on sale now and available from St. Erth Services.  

The stylish new Fiat 500 C pays homage to the original 1957 fabric roof Fiat 500, with an electric sliding roof that retains the shape of this classic vehicle. This, makes the Fiat 500 C less of a seasonal product and one that can be enjoyed the whole year round. The Fiat 500 C soft top stands out for its elegant electrically controlled movements and its impressively finished and carefully selected technical features, from the glass rear window to the third brake light built into the soft top itself. Available in three colours (ivory, red and black), the clever soft top is matched with various paint finishes, including three new creations: a pearlescent Ragamuffin Red, a Tech House Grey typical of high performance supercars, and Goth-Metal Blue.

New Fiat 500 C retains the same dimensions as the hatchback (355 cm long, 165 cm wide and 149 cm high), and the engine options are also the same. The low emissions diesel engine (1.3 75bhp), and two petrols (69bhp 1.2 and 100bhp 1.4 16v). Both petrol engines are offered with three gearbox options - 5 speed manual on the 1.2, 6 speed manual on the 1.4 or  the Dualogic semi-automatic robotised gearboxes. 

The UK range starts with the Pop version. Complete with seven airbags (two at the front, two window bags, two at the side and one to protect the knees), ABS anti-lock brakes with EBD and headlights with DRL (daytime running lights) function, Dualdrive electric power steering, manual climate control, radio/CD/MP3 player, height-adjustable steering wheel, height-adjustable front seat, central locking and electric windows, ignition key with customisable remote control, and an ‘active’ boot handle, the Pop has a comprehensive specification. 

The Lounge version adds Chrome kit to the mix, which includes chrome trim on the side windows, exhaust tail pipe, the interior door handle inserts, gear lever and the front and rear bumpers. Standard equipment extra to the Pop model include automatic climate control, ESP, fog lights and parking sensors, alloy wheels and colour coded electric door mirrors. Xenon headlights with integrated headlamp washers, Frau leather interior, leather gear knob, Hi-Fi Interscope sound system and special 16-inch spoked alloy wheels are optional on Pop and Lounge models.

Alfa Romeo MiTo - The new compact Alfa at Bradley's Motors

 Welcome to the Alfa Romeo MiTo - with styling influenced by the fantastic 8C Competizione supercar. From the shape of the side windows and frameless doors to the distinctive LED tail-lights.

As always with an Alfa Romeo, it is expected to be sporty and this MiTo is no exception, with a new fresh range of normally aspirated and turbo charged petrol engines and turbo diesel engines. Petrol engines available are 78bhp (to follow) and 95bhp 1.4 normally aspirated engines with 120bhp and 155bhp turbo charged petrol engines. Diesel is available with 1.3 90bhp and 1.6 120bhp. All engines are clean with low emissions output, and available with six speed manual transmissions (except 120bhp turbo - 5 speed manual).

Equipped with disc brakes all round, with a tried and tested suspension layout for sporty configuration - MacPherson at the front and semi-independent with torsion beam at the rear and  shock absorbers with coilover springs that considerably reduce roll.

These features are complemented by the latest new electronic performance enhancements - most notably the new "DNA" system. This allows the car to be driven in three different behaviour styles.

D - Dynamic is for out and out sportiness with the engine torque and steering assistance sharpened up.
N - Normal is for normal everyday driving
A- All weather - is for optimum grip and safety in poor weather conditions. 

Another field where the MiTo leads is safety. The Mito was designed and built to obtain the maximum Euro NCAP rating in the future, and has achieved the maximum five star rating. This is attained by  seven airbags as standard and three-point seatbelts with pretensioners and load limit limiters. A new system called S.A.H.R. (Self Aligning Head Restraint), which is an anti whiplash device built into the backrest on the front seats. Not to mention the contribution to occupant protection made by the body, the bonnet, the doors and the dashboard crossmember in addition to the seats and steering column, that have been designed with a view to their behaviour in the event of an accident.

Standard equipment is lavish, with all but the 1.4 Junior available with the DNA system. All models come with electric one-touch window system, remote central locking with alarm, electric heated mirrors, day time headlights, air conditioning and CD player with MP3 compatability. Lusso spec adds leather steering wheel with radio controls, alloy wheels, carbon fibre-effect dashboard with uprated upholstery, chrome headlight trims and chrome exhaust pipes amongst others. Veloce models can be specified with Blue&Me system which is a device developed in conjunction with Microsoft that offers handsfree mobile phone operation with a Bluetooth interface and advanced voice recognition, USB port, MP3 player and SMS interpreter.
